1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. They allow the website to recognize your device and remember information about your visit, such as whether you are logged in or what items are in your shopping cart. "Similar technologies" includes localStorage (data stored in your browser that persists between sessions) and session-based identifiers.

We use cookies and similar technologies for several purposes:

  • To make the Platform work correctly (authentication, session management, responsive layout)
  • To remember your preferences and settings
  • To understand how visitors use sites built on Lantanios so Builders can improve them
  • To track referrals in our affiliate program
2. Types of Cookies We Use

We organize our cookies into four categories. Each category serves a different purpose. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked before optional cookies are set; everywhere else, optional cookies follow a notice and opt-out model.

2.1 Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function. Without them, core features like logging in, maintaining your session, completing purchases, and crediting the affiliate partner who referred you would not work. These cookies are always active and do not require consent.

CookiePurposeDuration
Session cookieAuthenticates your identity and maintains your session state so you stay logged in as you navigate the PlatformBrowser session or configured expiry
Password reset cookieSecures the password reset flow by validating that the reset request is legitimateShort-lived (expires after the reset completes)
Shopping cart cookiePreserves the items you have added to your shopping cart so they are not lost when you navigate between pagesBrowser session
Site identifier cookieTracks which Builder site you are currently viewing so the Platform serves the correct contentBrowser session
Device viewport cookieStores your screen dimensions and touch capability so the Platform can deliver the correct responsive layoutBrowser session
Affiliate tracking cookieAttributes your signup to the affiliate partner who referred you.Configured referral window; cleared after successful signup
2.2 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies enhance your experience by remembering choices you have made. They are not strictly necessary for the Platform to operate, but disabling them may reduce the quality of your experience.

Cookie / StoragePurposeDuration
Browser preferencesStores your saved addresses, navigation preferences, and display settings (such as theme) so you do not have to re-enter them each visitPersistent
Editor preferences (localStorage)Stores your editor panel layout preferences so your workspace looks the way you left itPersistent (localStorage — remains until you clear browser data)
2.3 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help measure Platform public pages, signup and initial plan purchases, and visits to Builder sites. They collect information such as which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and how they arrived. These Platform measurements exclude the Builder and Admin workspaces. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are measured without analytics cookies (see section 4) until they accept Analytics. Everywhere else, analytics cookies are on until you turn Analytics off in Privacy Choices; visits are then measured without them.

CookiePurposeDuration
_la_sidIdentifies your analytics session so that page views and interactions during a single visit are grouped together30 minutes (sliding window — resets with each page interaction, expires after 30 minutes of inactivity)
_la_vidA random visitor identifier that lets a site count returning visitors1 year
_la_consentStores site-bound choices for available Analytics and Marketing purposes so a saved choice is remembered across page loads. Necessary storage stays active.1 year

Note: The _la_consent cookie is categorized here because it supports the consent mechanism for analytics and other optional cookies. It is set regardless of your consent choices because it records those choices.

3. Geolocation Data in Browser Storage

If a feature asks for your location and you grant your browser's location permission, the Platform may store your coordinates in a browser cookie to provide that feature. Your browser asks you before sharing your location. You can revoke the permission in your browser settings and delete the cookie by clearing your browser cookies.

4. Cookieless Tracking

When you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland and have not accepted Analytics, or when a site asks every visitor first, the Platform measures visits without analytics cookies. This identifier works as follows:

  • What it is: A random identifier held only in the page's memory. It is not derived from your device characteristics.
  • Page lifetime: The identifier is discarded when the page is closed or reloaded, so it is not kept across visits or sites.
  • Aggregate use: The identifier is used to produce aggregate analytics (for example, "this site had approximately 500 unique sessions today").
6. How to Manage Cookies

You have several ways to control which cookies the Platform sets on your device.

6.1 Consent Banner

A compact prompt asks visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland for an initial choice when the site uses advertising tags. A site owner can instead ask every visitor first, or use their own consent tool. A valid saved choice is remembered across visits. When a prompt is shown, you can:

  • Accept analytics cookies and advertising
  • Reject analytics cookies and advertising
  • Manage your choices individually
6.2 Manage Preferences

Use the Privacy Choices link in the page footer to review your choices at any time. Advertising tags and Platform server conversions share the Marketing choice. Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, turning off personalized advertising is an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising: the Google and Meta tags then run in those providers' limited data use modes, and TikTok Pixel stops. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, rejecting advertising stops our pending and future tag invocations. Restricted Google server conversions omit matching email, and restricted Meta server conversions are skipped. A later choice cannot unsend an earlier request. Analytics cookies have an independent choice; accepting legal documents does not accept Marketing.

6.3 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Common options include:

  • Block all cookies: This will prevent the Platform from functioning correctly (you will not be able to log in or maintain a session).
  • Block third-party cookies: This will not affect most Platform cookies, which are first-party.
  • Delete cookies: You can clear all cookies or cookies for a specific site. Note that this will log you out and reset your consent preferences.
  • Clear localStorage: Functional preferences stored in localStorage (such as editor layout) can be cleared through your browser's developer tools or site data settings.

For instructions specific to your browser, consult your browser's help documentation.

6.4 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

The Platform honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even if you previously allowed personalized advertising, and Privacy Choices shows that the signal was honored. Advertising tags then run only in limited data use: we send Google its restricted data processing setting and Meta its Limited Data Use option, and we do not run TikTok Pixel. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, a GPC signal blocks advertising tags. The essential operational referral cookie described in section 2.1 remains separate from advertising choices.

6.5 Do Not Track (DNT)

The Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal is not a recognized standard and does not change how sites on the Platform measure visits. Use Global Privacy Control or Privacy Choices to opt out of personalized advertising.

7. Third-Party Cookies

A site owner may enable Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel. When these tags run (see sections 5 and 6), they may use cookies such as _gcl_*, _ga, _ga_*, _fbp, _fbc, _ttp and ttcsid variants and process browser context under the provider’s own privacy policy. Our event parameters contain product identifiers, quantities and canonical conversion amounts when available; they omit contact details and account identifiers, except that a Google Ads signup or purchase conversion includes a one-way SHA-256 hash of the account email (enhanced conversions) when personalized advertising is allowed. Where you reject advertising in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, our pending and future tag invocations stop and we attempt to clear known accessible advertising cookies. Already downloaded vendor code and third-party or partitioned storage cannot be reliably removed or controlled by this site.

Optional Platform server conversions use stored signup and initial plan-purchase events independently of browser tags. Available click/browser identifiers and matching email hashes may be shared with Google and Meta under the Marketing choice. Hashes are not anonymous. See Privacy Policy Section 10.2 for the data and restricted-send behavior; each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy.

The Platform primarily uses first-party cookies (cookies set by lantanios.com or the custom domain you are visiting). However, certain third-party services integrated into the Platform may set their own cookies:
